Visa policy update because of COVID-19
From March 22 until further notice, Vietnam has suspended the entry of all foreign citizens. Only Vietnamese citizens, foreigners in diplomatic or official business, and skilled workers can enter the country. Anyone entering Vietnam must undergo a medical examination and 14 days of quarantine upon arrival.
After March 1, all foreigners who enter Vietnam with a visa exemption on an electronic visa or tourist visa. They will receive a free automatic extension of accommodation until January 31, 2021. Travelers who are still in the country must declare temporary residency to the local police by their owner or hotel. They must fill in the Vietnam online health declaration here.
It is possible to consider extending the extension for tourists entering the country before March 1. Insure, they can present an official letter from the embassy or consulate. Explaining they cannot leave the country for aim reasons. Foreigners who have undergone quarantine or COVID-19 treatment in Vietnam are also eligible to apply for an extension. When leaving Vietnam, they must bring supporting documents to the immigration officials.

Vietnam's tourist visas are valid for 30 days. It is now possible to get visa extensions from tourist offices or travel agencies in most major tourist destinations.

- A passport valid for six (6) months.

- A valid international credit or debit card
- Email address used for support
- Temporary address in Vietnam
- Your entry and exit date and entry point/airport
- Open the official website of the Vietnam e-visa application
- Upload a .jpg image from your passport data page and passport photo *Fill in all required information on the passport data page
- Fill in all required information about the trip
- Use any payment method provided to pay the e-visa fee
- Take your registration code and keep the number

A business visa requires a letter of support from your sponsoring organisation or company in Vietnam. The face-to-face process takes 2 to 3 days. While the mailing process takes 2 to 3 weeks, depending on the service you use. The time may vary by embassy or consulate. If you send via email, please note that you must advise them to return the passport along with the visa.
